General Development Test (GDT)

When an adult student reaches 18 years of age (on June 30th), and does not meet the requirements for admission to a vocational program, passing the GDT is one of the functional pre-requisites that is required to be eligible to certain vocational education programs.

Passing the General Development Test entitles the adult student to access certain vocational education programs at the secondary level or to access certain construction trades (CCQ).

The concepts evaluated include:

  • Training skills
  • Science
  • Problem solving (calculator permitted)
  • Writing comprehension
  • Language skills
